The Province of Buenos Aires is one of the twenty-three provinces of Argentina, and it is located in the central-western region of the country. The City of Buenos Aires is the capital of the country, and at the same time the capital city of the Province of Buenos Aires, is the city of La Plata. Villa Mercedes (also known simply as "Mercedes") is an Argentinian city located in east-central province of San Luis, within the Cuyo area. The city has around 100,000 inhabitants.

Although Villa Mercedes  is not characterised for receiving many tourists and visitors, in recent years, the number of persons who visit the city has continued to climb.

Villa Mercedes is close to other locations such as: La Toma, City of San Luis, Villa Dolores, Río Cuarto and Vicuña Mackenna.
