Río Gallegos is an Argentinian city, it is located within the Province of Santa Cruz. Río Gallegos is the capital and most populated locality in the province.

Geographically, Río Gallegos is located in southeast Argentina, in the Patagonia region, and currently it has a population of around 100,000 inhabitants.

Although it does not stand out, especially in the tourism area, Río Gallegos has an annual number of visitors that has been increasing for the last few years, according to the most recent statistics. Some of the most visited points of interest are: Laguna Azul, Museo de Los Pioneros, Barco Hundido Marjory Glen, Cabo Vírgenes, Costanera Angel Sureda and Plaza San Martín, among many other local landmarks.

Punta Arenas is a city located in the far south of Chile. Punta Arenas is part of the Province of Magallanes, and is also part of the Magallanes Region (also known as The XII Region).

Although it is not one of the most visited Chilean cities, the tourism industry in the Antarctic region of Chile has increased in recent decades, according to the latest statistics. The city has around 120,000 inhabitants.

Some of the most popular and visited points when traveling to Punta Arenas are: Cementerio Municipal, Costanera El Estrecho, Plaza Muñoz Gamero, Museo Salesian, Nao Victoria Museo, Monumento a Hernando de Magallanes, and Palacio Sara Braun, among many other local landmarks.

Due to the nature of the region, it is common to carry out activities such as: maritime excursions and sightings, usually whale watching and other animals in the area.

Punta Arenas, as mentioned above, is located within the Antarctic region of Chile, and is also close to locations such as: Puerto Natales, San Gregorio, Primavera, and also near Argentine towns such as: El Calafate, Río Gallegos, Río Grande and Ushuaia.
