Río Gallegos is an Argentinian city, it is located within the Province of Santa Cruz. Río Gallegos is the capital and most populated locality in the province.

Geographically, Río Gallegos is located in southeast Argentina, in the Patagonia region, and currently it has a population of around 100,000 inhabitants.

Although it does not stand out, especially in the tourism area, Río Gallegos has an annual number of visitors that has been increasing for the last few years, according to the most recent statistics. Some of the most visited points of interest are: Laguna Azul, Museo de Los Pioneros, Barco Hundido Marjory Glen, Cabo Vírgenes, Costanera Angel Sureda and Plaza San Martín, among many other local landmarks.

Río Gallegos is very close to other localities such as: El Calafate, El Chaltén, La Leóna, Puerto Santa Cruz, Puerto San Julián, San Gregorio and Primavera (these last two mentioned cities are Chilean).

Santa Cruz is located around 600 kilometers (by land vehicle) from the City of Ushuaia, the southernmost city of Argentina and the world. It is located around 400 kilometers from the famous Parque Nacional de Los Glaciares (Glacier National Park).

Information about Río Grande:

Rio Grande is a city located in the center of the Province of Tierra del Fuego, which, at the same time, is located in the far south of Argentina. The city has around 70,000 inhabitants, which makes it the second most populous city in the province, although most recent statistics indicate that it has around 80,000 inhabitants.

Rio Grande is located within the region called Patagonia Argentina, and near other locations such as: Río Gallegos, Ushuaia, Tolhuin, Bahía Thetis, and also near Chilean localities such as; San Gregorio, Primavera, Porvenir and Punta Arenas.

Although it is not mainly characterized in the tourism industry, some of the most visited and popular points when traveling to Rio Grande are: the popular Paso Garibaldi, Cabo Domingo, Museo del Centro Veteranos de Guerra Malvinas Argentinas, Reserva Natural Urbana Punta Popper, Museo Fueguino de Arte, Misión Salesiana, as well as Paseo de la Ciudad. It is also common to sport fishing, and activities such as walks and excursions through the different natural attractions that the region has to offer.

There is a bus terminal, located in the center of the city, on Rafael Obligado Street and José Finocchio.
