Salta, is the capital city of the Province of Salta. The Province of Salta is located in Argentina's far north, and, at the same time, the City of Salta, is located in the center of the province, very close to San Salvador de Jujuy.

The city has more than half a million inhabitants, becoming the 7th most populated city in Argentina. Due to its impressive and scenic nature, Salta receives a large number of tourists and visitors annually. Some of the most visited and attractive touristic points within Salta are: Tren a las Nubes, the famous Iglesia de San Francisco, Plaza 9 de Julio, Museo de Arqueología de Alta Montana de Salta, Virgen de Los Tres Cerritos, and Catedral de Salta, among many other local landmarks.

Information about La Quiaca, Jujuy:

La Quiaca is a city located within the province of Jujuy, in Argentina. The province is located in the far north of the country, and the city, at the same time, is also located in the far north of the country, bordering with Bolivia, and the Bolivian city of Villazón.

The city has around 15,000 inhabitants, and is located about 300 km from the capital of the province, the city of San Salvador de Jujuy. La Quiaca is close to other locations such as: Tilcará, San Salvador de Jujuy, San Ramón de la Nueva Oran, Vessel, Tartaga, and also very close to localities of the neighboring country such as; Mallcu, Tupiza, Tarija, and Camargo.

Although it does not stand out for its tourist aspect, some of the most visited points when traveling to La Quiaca are: Iglesia Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro, Mercado Central Municipal, Plaza 11 de Septiembre, Plaza Sarmiento, and Museo Puna. It is also common to visit tourist attractions such as Lagunas del Altiplano, or the famous Salar de Uyuni.

There is a bus terminal, although somehow pretty small, but it is possible to travel to different destinations both within Argentina and its neighboring countries, such as: Bolivia, Peru and Paraguay. Some of the bus companies that are possible to travel with are: La Veloz del Norte, Tramat, Flecha Bus, Balut, Andesmar and El Quiaqueño.
