The province of Neuquén is located in west-central Argentina, its capital is the city of Neuquén, which, at the same time, it's located in the eastern region of the province, bordering the Province of Río Negro. It is one of the Argentinian provinces located within the Patagonian region of the country. The City of Neuquén, interestingly, it's located in the extreme east of the province, practically bordering the provinces of La Pampa and Río Negro.

Neuquén is very close to locations such as: Cipolletti, General Roca, Cutral Co, Chos Malal, San Martin de Los Andes, Bariloche and Las Grutas. Such as the province of Mendoza, the province is bordered to the east by the famous Cordillera de Los Andes. The city of San Juan is the capital of the homonymous province (Province of San Juan) and is located in the Argentina region of Cuyo, in the centre of the country.

The province has a population of around 680,000 inhabitants, thus, becoming the 13th most inhabited province of Argentina. Like Mendoza, is bordered to the east by the Cordillera de Los Andes, and also stands out in the area of vitiviniculture, as well as the Province of Mendoza.
